I’ve been a trade union lawyer all my working life, defending people who are denied their rights at work. I got to know Keir when he was a young barrister, recommended to me as someone who felt equally passionate about achieving justice for working people. Keir proved that he had a particularly strong understanding of the importance of workplace representation and collective trade union rights. I instructed him in many cases and still have the trophy that one union rep gave us - following his victory in 2007 at an employment tribunal with Keir representing him -  which is inscribed “Men for all unions
