Lord Neil Kinnock backs Sir Keir Starmer in selection contest

Lord Kinnock wants members to vote for Sir Keir Starmer

FORMER Labour Party leader Lord Neil Kinnock said today (Wednesday) that he is endorsing Sir Keir Starmer in the Holborn and St Pancras selection contest.

With just three days before members pick a candidate to follow in the footsteps of the retiring Frank Dobson, Lord Kinnock, who lives in Tufnell Park, said: "Keir Starmer will be a committed and hard working constituency MP and a determined advocate for the people of Holborn and St Pancras. He has courage, integrity and principles."

He added: "This is one of the most important general elections in my lifetime . The electorate is faced with the choice of more catastrophic Conservative policies or a better, fairer future with Labour. We need the very best people on our side and I have no hesitation in recommending Keir Starmer to you."

Sir Keir, the former director of public prosecutions, will battle it out with fellow lawyer Raj Chada, council leader Sarah Hayward, doctor Patrick French and West Hampstead councillor Angela Pober.
