Easter Recess means no Parliamentary business in the House of Commons. Instead I had a brilliant couple of weeks in Camden and travelling round the country for local election launches.

Over the weekend I was dealing with the case of Stoly Jankovic, a shop-worker from Kentish Town who was detained by immigration officers and was facing deportation.
I pressed the Home Office hard to hold off action and I am pleased to say the Immigration Minister agreed my demand for 14 day hold off in Stoly’s depoartation so that full representations can be made.
We will continue to work with Stoly, and many others with similar cases, in the near future.
I also wrote to David Davis to raise my ongoing concerns about the impact of Brexit on Gibraltar. You can read my letter here.

Tuesday was a busy day on the campaign trail. I started the day speaking to Labour Assembly Members about Brexit before heading out canvassing with the Cardiff Labour team in Llanishen with my colleague Christina Rees.
We then headed to Gloucester for the Labour County election launch. It was fantastic to be with such an enthusiastic group of councillors, candidates and canvassers!

On Wednesday I travelled to Oxfordshire to launch Labour’s local election campaign and to speak about our approach to Brexit.
It was great opportunity to discuss a vision of the future that speaks to people and is capable of changing people’s lives.
In the evening I visited Haverstock School to support their fantastic Career Academy programme.
